Placed safely on the side
Protected by a layer of dust
In your box you hide
Shut away cold and dark
Im sorry I forgot you
In my defence, like me and him
You’re not required too
“Joined as one” I once wrote
But now your sparkle is dim
So happy you perched on my finger
But now you remind me of him
Once you looked so stunning
It seems you’ve lost your glow
The dancing spectrum colours
Like my love, faded slow
Im sorry id forgotten you
For a memory of life you bind
Im sorry I can’t wear you again
Haunting promises plague my mind
I’ll polish you up
And pass you on
My love, commitment just like your glow
They’ve gone
Im sorry id forgotten you
My heart can no longer sing
Im sorry id forgotten you
My committed engagement ring...
