These teardrops bleed for every dream,
that seep away through every day,
from wounds that no one else could see,
if in chance they'd look his way.

Each tear for every single laugh,
now reft away by razor's kiss,
and sent into a heartless void,
where even hope can not exist.

I cry now for each time he cuts,
To strive to keep him whole,
'Cause every time he breaks his skin,
He tears into his soul.

Oh gosh sweetie .. this is so heartwrenching .. (even reading again)

That last line rips my heart out. It just says so much, hun. So much.

You have expressed the pain and sadness (and hopelessness)
so excruciatingly well. Your words, as always exact a torment that
my being is never fully prepared for. A true poet you are, hun.

Here for you, always ~

*hugs you tight*

Wow, Phil. You've touched on a very deep and disturbing matter here. Cutting. It is a tragic thing. These lines say it all...

"'Cause every time he breaks his skin,
He tears into his soul."

Peace, Laura

Blessings and healing wished, my first thoughts upon reading. Excellent, concise the piece delivers the impact like piece of hard velvet steel upon my souls skull. Yes I think you hit it right on the head the soul is the body, the body is the soul, especially while we are here.
However on a lighter note I wish a simple solution like puppy cones on the hands would work however the answer has to be in circumventing the triggers.

Peace
Yang

Phil,
Any convalescence, I'm sure, may be hard to come
by.. even after putting pen to paper-
though in my experience, (as futile as this may
sound) I've found that time will inevitably
heal all wounds-

hoping this finds you well luv~

I've thinking about it and I think I have come up with something.....what about adding the words "and mine..." as a last line, for I know it tears into yours just as much........

Hugs

A potent ending, indeed. I read it two different ways, actually (in two different ways, I mean)... though I can explain neither fully, I can tell you they are both incredibly heartrending.

There are times when I'm certain a soul is stronger than all else... and other times when I see it as a terribly fragile. Tonight, with your words fresh in mind, it is the soul's fragility that lingers in my thoughts. I'll presume that a temporary perspective though (libratic optomism and all, you know). I'll hope, as well, that you find the situation to be a temporary one and that a soul is not nearly as fragile as it might seem sometimes. Yes... I do so hope.

*hugs you tight*

A very intense and heart wrenchng poem, whidh seems to cut away at the vulnerability of one's soul. Yet no matter how much pain we suffer and wounds we endure, our spiritual core, I believe, survives it all. Still a very thought provoking piece.

Well done, very well done, Phil
