He was to the world, Nickademus Goveast~

A man undeniably apart...

In love with love, music, women & feast~

His own drum unto life, the beating heart

Within his chest was housed a lions pride~

Having once wooed the moons self with his song

With nomadic grace was gifted his stride~

No one place allowing him to belong

His abundant passion barely contained~

In the home it had made of his soul

Its craving for beauty within him reigned~

And into all which he created, stole

A true child of the sun without sire~

Born on earth, the only mother to him known

While a twin sister forged by the same fires~

Into a far different world was thrown...

She was called at birth, Noella Goveast~

And was undefinable from the start...

Defying the laws of both man & priest~

To make hers a life of knowledge & art

Within her mind there lived a need to know~

The endless answers to wherefore & why

Never unasked did she let a question go~

Even with, "the powers that be" unshy

She was a work of art that suffered no frame~

Her own beauty a mirror unto lifes

Ever evolving in both face & name~

She had been daughter, mother, queen & wife

Undiminished stayed his love & respect~

Though her company little did he keep

She was to him that which all beauty reflect~

While his own wanderlust disturbed her sleep...

What an excellent telling of this tale. So much that I would love to know more. This piece has the metric of the old world a kind of fist pounding in time to its rhythm.

Bravo

Peace

Oh my my my! This was FABULOUS! I mean, it IS fabulous!!

So soft and beautiful, your words. They are a means of transport that
carries us back into a place that time forgot. It's utterly gorgeous!!

Exceptional piece. I can't say enough on this. This is truly poetry.
And an exquisite piece of art. BRAVO!!!

An excellent poem, exquisitely crafted and easy to read because the rhythm is so expressive. I can't wait to read the continuation!

Thank you also for your comment on one of my poems.
