Array ( [sid] => 131231 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => What I learned in this year of struggle [time] => 2007-01-31 17:52:12 [hometext] => this is basically about what i learned in a year of hardship, about friends and family, and wish them goodness no matter what [bodytext] =>
This year for me, was filled with many trials, one after another
In addition, what I witnessed was people walking out on me, even my brother
I learned that even your most trusted friend
Will make excuses in the end
I was down and feeling really, really low
But my children and a few people came through, for me though
It just amazed me to see people I love walk away, or pretend not to see
The struggle that had befallen, on me and my fam-ily
But I took it in stride, and like them pretended not to see
That my trusted friends were slowly abandoning me
I just prayed and asked God to bless them in all they do
Because I would not wish on them, what I was going through
But God sent in angels to help me through my plight
And his Love for us made sure we had breakfast and or, lunch and supper every night
And by whatever means bills were paid
Trust me I am not saying we had it made
I am saying our basic needs were taken care of
And that, is Just a small example of Gods love
I cried many times from the stress of it all
And out of the blue, an old friend called
And just wanted to know how I was and if she could come by
A person who I once treaded badly and that is no lie
And still here she was, here to help anyway she could
The way I thought my close friends would
I am so thankful that God sent her my way
My soul overflowed with tears as she began to pray
I know in my heart God sent her my way
And my disappointment started disappearing that day
People would come to me, and ask me to help them out
And I did so without a doubt
But when the tables were turned, an they were not as concerned
I simply viewed it as a lesson learned
And my advice to you, is kneel down and pray
And know in your heart, God will send angels your way
The lesson I learned was truly FOOT PRINTS IN THE SAND
I learned to always put my trust in God, and not in man
