Of a strange town barefoot
Pacing out each step
Equally apart from one another

I see children play happily
With their skipping ropes
Passing a busker
I throw him a fiver in change

I carry on walking
Passing a church
Seeing families paying respect
To their beloved

It's getting colder
I look down realising
I've put the wrong Levi's on today
There split at both knees

I walk through a park
Trying to find shelter
From the cold air
But to no avail

Then in the corner of my eye
I catch a glimpse
Of a woman who I've met
Just once before

She's gently rocking
Back and forth on a swing
With only the aid of the cold breeze
I go and sit on a swing next to her

Still she hasn't noticed me
Her eyes look glazed over
Perhaps by the cold air
Or maybe, just maybe
She's in a state of loneliness

I say hello
No answer
I say how are you?
Still no answer

I slowly open up my ripped jacket
I slowly withdraw a rose
From the inside pocket
I hand the rose to her

She now turns and faces me
Pulling me in close
She gently kisses me on the lips
Then whispers the words
That makes my heart melt
