Attention soaked delirium
The curious are down on their knees
All thrills disintegrate
Enthusiasm dissipates
The effort extends misery
Swirling in this emptiness
Victories are meaningless
All I see is darkness and trees
Continually compounding
Negatively confounding
Pleasures come expensively

It's the dirt and the filth
Watching self-esteem wilt
Turning minds against guilt
That we breathe
An ever downward spiral
Both poisonous and viral
Trapped in the web
That we weave

Influential decisiveness
Alcohol and reputants
Excitement no one can conceive
The environment calling
Our urges controlling
Resistance a hope lost at sea
The vibrating motions
The fluid filled oceans
Instincts we will always believe
The groups not too far away
Hopefully we're okay
Demonstrated as is perceived [comments] => 4 [counter] => 305 [topic] => 49 [informant] => mysterium [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 8 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => mystical )

Welcome to YPDC, mysterium. Terrific first post here. I like the rhythm of this piece... it's sort of punchy (beat-poetry-ish, if you will) and makes me wish to hear it aloud. Moreover, I'm inclined to make a mental note for myself to check back to your page occasionally. I'm quite curious about what else you may be offering us.

Again, welcome!

This poem fills my head with pictures - some quite... bizarre, but probably colored by recent experiences in my own life. Which gives it total success as a poem, since it can be read into through a reader's lens.

Well done! Blessings, J.

A strong rung by rung descent and from you user name I get the 'mysterium tremendum et fascinans' a term coined to name the awe-some (fascinating and full of awe) mystery that leads to belief in deities, the supernatural, the sacred, the holy, and the transcendent.

Well Done

Peace
