This is for the ones who have ever wanted
To take back the words that spilled out.
This is for the ones who have ever felt
The poisonous mass of guilt.
This is for the ones who work so hard
Yet feel they accomplish nothing.
This is for the ones who go the whole 9 yards;
Dot their i's and cross their t's,
Chew their own food and don't cut corners,
The ones who don't take the easy way out.
This is for the ones who have ever lost
A loved one
Due to war,
Accident,
Murder,
Or fate.
This is for the ones who kill themselves
To make others happy,
Who have done so much
For someone that can't see the sacrafice,
The ones who have ever loved.
This is for the ones who were so close
-so close to perfection, love, success-
Who were so close and lost it all.
This is for the ones who know
The true definition of heartbreak
And disappointment.
This is for the ones who are afraid
To ever trust again
After their only hope failed.
This is for the ones who have been
Stabbed in the back by the world,
Their friends don't understand,
All they're left with
Is this loose leaf piece of paper
To confide in.
This is for the ones whose most reliable friend
Is a strip of metal.
This is for the ones who have an evening ritual
With a razor blade,
And know the scars will never fade.
This is for the ones who have ever wondered
If they'd be better off dead,
Who have made a mental list
Of the ones that might notice.
This is for the ones that have ever cried
In front of a mirror,
Wondering who was staring back.
This is for the ones who fear the blood,
Fear the tears,
Fear themselves.
This is for the ones who are starving to be
The media's idea of beautiful.
This is for the ones who have ever been a victim
Of labels, stereotypes or rumors.
This is for the ones who are tired
Of societies attitude
And wish they could make a difference.
This is for the ones who have ever been
Held back because of
Their religion, race, gender or size.
This is for the ones whose family status
Is forbidden to discuss.,
It's not the standard "normal."
This is for the ones who are tired
Of hearing "I understand,"
Tired of hearing that lie.
This is for the ones who feel.
This is for the ones who know.

This is for you.

This is for me.

This is for every contestant
In the game of life.

You're not alone.

I like this. It's a nice message to say 'there's someone else out there, just like you'. That's how I took it, anyway.

I agree that so many can relate to this. I kept nodding along and seeing little bits of myself in here too.

And thanks, I think you've just inspired me to write something.

*hugs*

In all ways solo but never lonely. What is an excellent write? "This Goes Out." Correct for $2000.

Great Job

Peace

Now this is absolutely wonderful. I can relate to the whole poem and you put such a personal touch on this one... Making readers connect to not only you, but to one another.

This is what it is all about. Thank you SO much for sharing this touching piece of reality.
