where everybody sleeps past noon
but rise to gaze at mother moon
and party under the emystars
whose reflections draw Oohs and Ahhs….

Tattooed girls get my heart thump’n
and merry chicks get this joint jumpin
as Mexican mammas tap their toes
to the chorus of ‘The Broken Rose’
while Cajun sweeties, eyes aglow
hope that there are vibes to go

Off the dance floor, romanticists
tell wild tales none can resist
femme fatales and vampire queens
ensconced in vivid Gothyk scenes
make Faustian pacts where poems are sold
before the author’s dark and cold
and caged souls share a metal hell
with tongues that lash but cannot spel (sic)

party crashers from afar
sail in from the nearest star
'to come in peace and bring much bliss'
from their planet, Xynobis
bearing lost relics as a gift
and offer MGAKelazzo90 a lift

Quarrels and cross-talk in the kitchen
Flio and Rachel won’t stop mix’n
as misfits and hippy chicks
speak their minds and take their licks
while Annelise, sweet Annelise
discusses war but hopes for peace

Gwen and Louisa drink alone
Colin Baker’s on the phone
sagacious Lionel, Jen, 54
quietly leave through the back door
Kayla, no saint, parties nude
but Frank’s so square he’s now a cube!
Archie, such a reprobate
hits on girls he used to date
while Benny -14 if a day
chases young Violet away

Beyond sunflowers and tea
here comes the dawn machinery
revealing what the poetess saw
nature red in tooth and claw
scorpions with haunted eyes
watch another great sunrise
while baron hawks deftly circle
the morning doves, ever so gentle
as wachumiri’s still their breath
to escape the raven’s death
and butterflies flap their wings
as the Kyarn warning bell

BRRIINGGS!!!

Some suicidal imbecile
threw a match in the woodpile
party’s over, Marisa’s sure
leads a Jackee-Line to the door
Rhymingron lays down a beat
while deadheads shrink from the heat
‘the roof, the roof, the roof is on fire!’
as wild flames and ash climb higher
GET YOUR PEANUTS AND CANDY SEARS!!
as memories are reduced to tears

Alas, the outlaw club is gone
farewell to our happy home
but as you leave, just remember
you can always be a ‘former member’
with artistic convictions unshakeable
and dreams, unbreakable

I really dug this...not only for the rhyme & flow,( which in my esteem, 'rock' ) but for the great relatables held therein. These people have come to mean a great deal to me...making my 1st internet exprience such a worthy & enriching one. 10 star from me!!!Great job in making sure none go unsung!!!

Now there's a menagerie for sure. You've just about captured the chaos of these environs. Nicely done.

S ~

I agree that you have certainly captured the chaos of YPDC .. and the forums. lol

This must have been quite the undertaking .. (where do you find the time? lol)

The piece itself was exceptionally emotive enough to put a smile on this girl's face
but the credits at the end .. well, dearest poet, your heart is showing. *wink*

So, I shamelessly take this moment to thank YOU. You have touched a soul with your
kindness and thoughtfulness, (more than once).

Excellent write .. as always ~

~Breezy

Hurrah! I'm a duck!!! (*giggles*)

: )

My dear Spikito, it has been my pleasure to read your work and you ought know I'll keep coming back again. And... what a treat it was to find myself here among the others for simply doing something that I enjoy. I am one lucky duck. The others are right, of course - we're all mad, really... a bunch of loons, we... and your piece captures the spirit of this place quite well. Ah, you gotta love the charisma, the tom foolery, the talent and the comraderie that exists here (in this place and on this page)!! And... if I do say so myself... we look pretty darn good set upon the page by your hand - loopy, but good... as would seem appropriate. : )

(Oh how I smiled when I perused this!!! I'm certain I must have looked like a cheshire cat, methinks!!!)

Still smiling,
~Snemita
