I don’t need him to validate the woman I can be
I don’t need him to be me

And its not that I don’t give a damn
I just know I can live my life at my own pace
God planned my destiny so I'm not in a race
To live up to another’s standards, or expectations of me
And trust me it feels good to be free
Of all the stressful problems, that situation brought to light
And because it’s no more, I can sleep in peace at night
It was just something not meant to be
A man who was not meant for me

I felt it for the first time today
That fact that old feelings no longer stand in the way
And I felt a bit hurt, but was glad to know
That now I can finally let go
Because I don’t need his approval any mo
I don’t need him to validate the woman I can be
I don’t need him to be me

this is a very wise piece.. never let anyone control who you are.. but sometimes you can get caught up in something and we all make mistakes but at least we learn from them and it makes us understand things alot better. I really liked this write.. thanks for sharing

The hurt will eventually fade , I can relate to this poem and always trust your heart because a heart doesn't lie. Nice poem
