I went blind so I could see
Ruined a romance, tribal danced
Fell in love by the glance

Knocked on wood
I thought I should
Sold my feelings, climbed the ceilings
Went upside down to appease your readings

Now I’m mad at what’s been had
Should be nostalgic, should be glad
Believed in it, I thought it fit
Burned a match to keep it lit

Wrote it down, stuck around
Beautified what you surround
Lied to me, I lied to three
The child, the girl, the enemy

What is love? Is it true?
Does it speak to me, does it speak to you?
Does it seek revenge? Does it avenge?
Can it cry? Will it end?

Worked with fate, showed up late
Stay true to soul, leave hate
Stay positive, learn to live
Give all you’ve got left to give

Speak your opinion. Make decisions
Market your own envisions
Stay stubborn, never learn
Wait in line for your turn

Hate the song, sing along
Rhyme the words so the lyrics wrong
Realize and normalize
Establish truths within the lies

Fall again, never end
Cycle through a merry go land
Play the clown, eat the sword
You play martyr I’ll play lord

And kiss my cheek, give a sneak
I’ll understand, you need not speak
It’s called goodbye, funeral of the “simple try”
You may love the fall but I love the lie

Ignore the past, it never last
Time is moving fast
Move along, abide the wrong
The love is short, the loveless long

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
