Array ( [sid] => 130913 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Leaving a dysfunctional relationship [time] => 2007-01-23 17:02:32 [hometext] => just realizing if it looks like a duck, acts like a duck and quacks like a duck, then HEY! its a duck...never close youreyes to what is real...i would rather hurt for a moment, than live with a lie for ever [bodytext] => His coming back changed something in me
Something I couldn’t ignore and couldn’t help but see
There was something different in his voice
Something that helped me make the choice
To just leave this ridiculous situation
That has caused me nothing but aggravation
But my attraction to him tugs at my heart
It’s what made it so hard for me to let go, from the start
But I know what I must do, for me
I need to completely let go, so I can see
That this man, no matter how captivated by him I am
That he and I were nothing but a scam
A game if you will, something not real
And it took me all this time to see
That phony love he held for me
Why he pretended, I will never know
By he is in no way, trying to let go
What a sick game, this whole thing has come to be
Me really loving someone who is really loving, or pretending to love me
But whether its real or not it has to end
Because I can no longer play this game of is it real or pretend
And with a clear conscious I can say
Good by to this dysfunctional relationship today

A few years ago this poem would have helped me through a hard time. Very well done!

Beautiful!
