in a small secluded place,
everything is lush and green,
the air smells of sweet tree bark
with a hint of the soft earth beneath

two young loves,
lying entwined
in each others arms,
content with life,
oblivious to everything
but the feel of the energy
from the bond they share
and the earth around them

lying in each others’ embrace,
on a bed of fern
as soft as the puffiest clouds in the sky,
the sound of their beating hearts
and the whispers of warm breath
accompanied only by the trickle
of a crystal clear stream nearby

a perfect picture

a goblet overflowing
with a liquid so delicious,
so tempting,
a sip must be taken
or regretted eternally,
unfaithful

and so it happens,
not to be surprised,
the odds were
against him after all,
but the effect,
none the less intense

the glass is spilt
over the portrait of happiness,
the canvas weakens,
the colors, once perfect
start to run
as blood slowly
seeps from a wound

the foliage now browns,
the energy ceases,
the air is still and heavy,
no longer able to breath,
thunder rumbles distantly

trust forever broken,
the once perfect bond
now replaced with question
to remain everlastingly unanswered,
for caring words
will be spoken,
never again [comments] => 2 [counter] => 191 [topic] => 48 [informant] => twistedlittleangel [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )

Wow. This is outstanding. The emotion, the imagery, the feeling, amazing! This is the perfect poem I could never write, I know what you're going through. I love the way this is written, how it goes from such a smooth, lightening tone to such a powerful ending. Great write! -Drapes
