How love can look them in the face and they flee,
They go on with their lives, covering the hurt,
Always wondering how the other is doing in their lurch.
Then they shrug it off, count to ten,
Methodically locking all the memories in,
They go on with their lives
Drag themselves through the days,
Through the endless nights, and unending maze,
Ignoring the signs that are pointing the way.
They thought it would be temporary, but the pain's there all day.
They try to hide it, Try to hold it in,
But as the darkness softly falls, they don't know where to begin.
They are left with their dreams, their memories,
Thinking of eachother, but each one refuses to see...
Until one of them, finally, gives in,
The foolishness is suddenly apparent and they try again.
They wonder about why they fight...
The maze always disappears at night. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 160 [topic] => 25 [informant] => ginsdance [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 13 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => MiscPoems )
