Her hands in mine
She looked like an angel
Beautiful and divine

She smiled at me
Even though she had lost
Lying on the death bed
Trying to defy it the most

She looked into my eyes
And slowly she whispered
'I hate myself to leave you'
That was the last thing I heard

I didn't notice her go
For there was still her smile
Later did the lightning hit me
And shocked me for a while

I screamed for the doctor
I screamed for help
Nobody seemed to reply
To an old man's yelp

A sudden jerk in my heart
A sudden burst of pain
A sudden force encroaching me
A sudden dysfunctional vein

Still holding her hands
I fell on the floor
An eternity of darkness
And across it stood a door

I could feel she was there
Waiting for me with her smile
I ran towards the door ahead
Covering in a second, a mile

I opened the heavenly door
And into a different world I fell
Suddenly I felt very sleepy
My eyes starting to swell

I open my eyes to a pleasing vision
Things here seemed perfectly fine
I look at her smiling at me
Holding her hands in mine

We look at each other
As if met for the first time
I asked her like an eager teenager
With me if she wanted to dine

We walked ahead on the blissful road
Discussing about food and wine
We stopped suddenly
As ahead us we saw the Sign

A man appeared in front of us
Wearing a robe of milky whiteness
But his blue eyes were that I noticed
As he raised his hand above us to bless

A bright flash of light
And he was gone
We entered the gate
To a new life's dawn

What a beautiful poem, remarkably beautiful. It reminds me so much of my parents and I can't stop crying.
