I am Lady Godiva
A martyr to the feminist cause,
I stand naked now before you,
With neither embarrassment nor shame.
For I am beautiful,
And so are you.

Why then, my fellow daughter of Eve
Do you hide your face from humanity?
Fear not the lies of temptation
Jealous men construct to bind your soul.
Within you holds a power
No man can ever break.

I, Lady Godiva,
Now remove your veil of darkness,
Stand naked with me before the world,
With neither embarrassment nor shame,
For you are beautiful,
And so am I.

Definately some righteous poetry! I love the political taint and the questioning as a head figure. This poem has acheived the statement I have assumed to be sought after.

This is like a vision of wisdom and comfort that appears to one who is in deep soul distress. I may not be a " fellow daughter of Eve" ( I love that line) but I am a fellow lover of poetry and this is exceptional writing.

Very well done
