My heart longs and pants after her, needing to hold her right now and everyday.

The odds of life will fight against us. Seeds of doubt can arise and shake the trust.

Being faithful to our relationship is a must. The harvest reaped is misery and heartbreak, sown from the seed of lust.

Once, and just one time I need something to be real. Something so real that I’m totally secure in how I feel.

It’s here, I’m sure of it, so I’m going with it.
Speak to me years from now. Ask me was it for real and how?

Life’s road is treacherous when you travel it alone. My past relationships let me go, I fell and broke. With each step I took I would moan.

However, this time I have something real and she is carrying me. This time, she is showing me the way, even when I cannot see.

This poem is dedicated to my love, Allison.
Written for her, by Jonathan Wichmann

Truly beautiful. I know how it is when you desperately need something to be real. something to just keep you hanging on. To give you a reason to stay.
Seeds of doubt can truly shaken up your trust and I look forward to the day where my true love will carry me and show me the way.
But this is truly an amazing poem and it brightens my day (well, night now...but still...) to know that there are still some good guys out there that would dedicate a very true and heartfelt poem to their beloved. Great job.
