His face like a midnight rose in a field of lillies
What a mask he places upon himself
A pretender on the actors stage
He lifts his hand to my face in pure falsehood
Pulse racing, heart races
Faces inching closer for that moment of sheer bliss
The future a misty river
Unsure of the twists and turns the tide pushes us

I find a lot of depth in this piece as well as a lament of loss and the powers others have over us. However I suspect many will read what they will from it as John Lennon once explained:

"We've learned over the years that if we wanted we could write anything that just felt good or sounded good and it didn't necessarily have to have any particular meaning to us. As odd as it seemed to us, reviewers would take it upon themselves to interject their own meanings on our lyrics. Sometimes we sit and read other people's interpretations of our lyrics and think, 'Hey, that's pretty good.' If we liked it, we would keep our mouths shut and just accept the credit as if it was what we meant all along."

I cite this in honor of what this piece means to you.

Peace
Yangdantien

Dunno what this means to you. I do love the wording and pretty much every line. We all mean different things with each line we weave... Doesn't matter what anyone else says or thinks. :)

Being used is such a horrible thing to go through.. Especially if you have deeper feelings and feel more connected to the other person... This was a very well written poem and I liked the flow and everything.. Sad...

Take care

I've doen this too a woman... I felt no sorrow for her but disgust for doing it. I don't know if you were the masked one or the ash. I also don't know if you felt regret if you did do it... but if you were the one hurt, an apology I offer you as a man who regrets burning people.

Eternally Punished,
Faust
