Array ( [sid] => 13012 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => I Breathe [time] => 2003-02-20 06:40:00 [hometext] => I'm not sure what possessed me to write this but the images just seemed to fill my mind so I wrote it down. It's about someone who was in a terrible accident and each moment in time. [bodytext] => I breathe,

I look around seeing faces unknown and the anxiety grows,
White jackets flowing, they speak urgently and part of me knows,
The bed I lie on moves quickly, as though floating on the air,
And I wonder through this chaos if there’s anyone that cares.

I breathe,

Each moment is an agony, pain fills me through and through,
I feel myself grow weaker, I’m filled with fear I never knew,
As shadows start closing in, the pain seems to subside,
And a part of me begins to wonder, what happens if I died.

I breathe,

Scattered memories come flooding in, I think of what they mean,
Of people who have loved me and some I’ve seldom seen,
When suddenly a face made vivid appears within my mind,
The one I’ve loved and longed for, who’s always been so kind.

Everything begins to fade as I cling to that sweet face,
As darkness overtakes me I move on and leave this place.

To late I thought of you and longed to make you mine,
I wanted so for you to know that together we’d be fine.
But as the midnight covers all, even you are gone,
To late to tell you what I thought, that in my life you shone.

I breathe,

I slowly open up my eyes and look around the room,
Everything seems blurry, my eyes are used to gloom.
All that I remember is the face I held so dear,
I search around so frantically to see if you are near.

I breathe,

My family and friends, have come to wish me well,
All their faces show concern, it’s easy enough to tell,
But it’s you I’m searching for, there’s things that must be said,
Then memories come flooding back and I realize you’re dead.

I breathe.

Tears flood down my face…

I breathe.
