Array ( [sid] => 130083 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Cold Around the World [time] => 2007-01-03 10:53:06 [hometext] => I must say this write came from talking with a friend and fellow poet Muhammad Shanazar. Though we live so far apart...our hearts are still one for peace. My title is from him. Thank you, my brother. [bodytext] =>

Cold and cloudy throughout the world these days
Songs of love and peace seem lost in a haze

I feel alone trudging up the hill
knuckles dragging; so much pain I feel

Our ways of tenderness seem obsolete
Wars are started and so the bombs defeat

Tears rolling down my tired and beaten face
Movies played, pictures of folks all misplaced

Children seeing death and destruction
Only grow and are succumbed by the influxion

Where do we start where does it end
Unsure anymore who is foe and who is friend

Disbelief infests me so much like a disease
Killing and maiming by humans with ease

Please Please

Tell me it will all go away
The hate the trauma the cold dark days

Will humans ever see the light
Or will they continue to cut throats in delight

Hang a man for his said crimes
Who's hanging for all the other's who've died?

"...just a world that we all must share
it's not enough just to stand & stare...
Is it only a dream that there'll be no more turnin' away..."
~ Pink Floyd

Your words scream the answer, "No!"
Thank you so much for not turnin' away...our world needs us to care!

Keep passin' the peace pipe, sis!!!
~Me

DH .. this was so powerful and sad, sis ..

I feel ya ~

and I wish there was a way to end suffering .. so much
hatred exists in the world. And that makes for a terrifying
and lonely existence ..

much love and peace to you, hun

~Breezy

Written on a the poets battlefield this piece is highly evocative and reminds me to teach my young not go off to a 'Cream Puff War'

"wiping away tears) today I was in a forum and we were all talking about war and the men who have died..someone mentioned that we seem to forget the Iraqui men. It does seem hopeless Laura..I feel defeated sometimes..

great write!!!

I can really find feeling and if not comfort but uneasy solice in this poem. Relief in the knowledge that there are people out there who feel so strongly about this topic. I am reallly happy you put this on here as I am with your other poems. Another great poem by mizz deadheadpoet.
