Girl on a hill in a peasant dress
Shading her eyes from the sun's caress
Wind runs his fingers through raven hair
Leaves swirl to earth in the Autumn air
Falling in torrents of gold's and reds
Leaving a carpet on which she treads
Down to the valley where I will be
Breathless until she is there with me

'Neath the old Oak at the river's bend
All of my waiting will come to end
Yonder she runs and her laughter rings
Into my arms and my spirit sings
Intimate dances to Nature's tune
Day will succumb to the stars and moon
And we'll lie together 'neath darkened skies
Content with the light from each others eyes...

Long, long ago yet I see them still
The Oak in the valley, the girl on a hill
Clearly remembered though time has passed
Blurring the reasons they couldn't last

Chances, like Autumn, can slip away
Sometimes forever is but one day
And always a moment just passing through
By a tree at the river , in love with you

i don't know that this will make any sort of sense... but...

It is always the 'underneath' of your work that tugs most at me. I do adore the words that you set so wonderfully on the page - but it is the something-else that lays there with them that really moves me. That something-else... well... it sometimes screams at me through those blank spaces, refusing to be overlooked. It is, I believe, what makes reading you such a moving experience.

Oh, and - Larry?... I respectfully refuse to accept "Sometimes forever is but one day" as truth. I appreciate, entirely, its inclusion here... but cannot bear to embrace the thought. I truly don't mean to be argumentative or disruptive... I simply mean to say that I cannot, will not, let go my forever, you know?

Sometimes stubborn (*wink*),

You have, without any reasonalble argument, created a forever in one's mind with these magnificent words of love 'n' nature so brilliantly blended. Just me, but I say it's a MASTERPIECE~

Beauty comes in the eyes of the beholder and my friend this is past beautiful.
Magical is one word I may use but of course never does justice to the feeling deep in my heart.

A moment just passing through..I can almost see it; a flash of memory..a smile passing over lips; a heart remembering love.. another gem..diamond-like..you never disappoint.

Forever can be but a day..or a day can be so wonderful it is like forever; or one would like it to be..yep.

For as long as we have memory
That moment in time ... will always be

And that seems like forever.
Never do you disappoint Mr. Larry. A truly wonderful read. And a breathtaking moment.
