Array ( [sid] => 129858 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Hope [time] => 2006-12-27 19:28:00 [hometext] => A sort of 'getting back on your feet' kind of write, not perfect, but it's a start. [bodytext] => She lost the feeling long before,
in time when every tear was raw,
and felt in every single pore...

But, inside a voice spoke to her heart,
A voice impossible to ignore.

Yet somehow in a silent place,
Deep where she could not escape,
She heard a tiny voice say no,
A desperate plea to not let go,
And make such a mistake.

But she couldn't run, she wanted love,
Someone to hold, a hand to touch..
Though she knows that it's not love she feels,
She tells herself this time it's real,
And she knows that love eludes her still,
And believes somehow it always will,
But she lies to herself every day,
In hope the truth with go away.

...But she sacrificed her very soul,
and every single dream was stole,
and now when she looks in the mirror,
she only sees a silent sinner.

In spinning lies she finds the voice,
Stronger while she has no choice,
That gives her cause to pause and doubt,
That this is what real love's about.

And she finds herself still wanting more,
From when every breath was not a chore,
And every single happy smile,
Was not a repeat from before. [comments] => 8 [counter] => 434 [topic] => 48 [informant] => lostinmyself [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 25 [ratings] => 5 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )

Well if this is an object of getting back on your feet sweety I would say your are not only on your feet but off and running.

This hit the strings deep within my heart and tugged them in several directions. Penned by a talented woman indeed. I am so happy
to see you posting and sharing with us once again.

Huge hugssss

~Michelle~

Phil, Simply a wonderful write. Full of questions, that indeed one day will be answered. Love will come, never give it up. It will sneak up on you when you least expect it.

In the words of Robert Hunter..."Once in awhile you get shown the light, in the strangest of places if you look at it right"

You penned this beautifully and from the heart, your honesty is powerful.

Glad to see you writing again.
Peace and hugs,
Laura

Oh sweetie ... this is incredible! Both in courage AND style.
I especially love the last stanza. It is so full. Full of raw emotion
and even a strength between the lines.
Strength that some never find ..

I sense a deep sadness in here hun. Like a loss of something
that maybe never even was .. something that was hoped for
maybe .. it's painfully beautiful.

So glad to be reading something from you again. You have
this ability to tear down my walls and force my emotions to the
front. Some, that perhaps, I'm not even ready to know I possess.

Brilliant work~

*hugs you tightly tons*

This stanza ...
"In spinning lies she finds the voice,
Stronger while she has no choice,
That gives her cause to pause and doubt,
That this is what real love's about"

Pulls a strong sense of hope into these words.
As a whole it feels wistful, and filled with longing.
I like it even more than I did the first time I read it and I hope it has found additional favor with you hun. It certainly deserves it and has found it with this reader.

Nazzy ~

One's perception of this piece, I believe, is closely tied to how one defines 'hope'. To wish for something that probably doesn't exist is hopeful, but not hope-full, I think. Hope, I believe, is born of awareness, growth, strength, truth and the ability to move forward -- all of which exists on this page. And hope, dear Philly, is beautiful.

If I may be terribly bold... (acknowledging, of course, that you didn't ask for a suggestion), I might gently suggest Hope as a fitting title. "A sacrafice", in my eyes, would be to turn away from it.... I wish for you, always and entirely, that you never, never do.

*hugs you*

Finding something beautiful here,
~Snem

It's almost like you're sacrifising hope
Not completely understanding life or love..(do any of us?) Wanting so bad not to be alone, yet somewhere way down deep inside, the hope still burns, faint but persistant.

Well anyway, that's what I get out of it.
You really know how to bring out the emotions!!

I love this one... The italics part feels like the turning point, when it just started gushing out, I felt like I needed to read it quickly.
Very good poem, my friend.
Take care,
David
