Array ( [sid] => 129801 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Contained [time] => 2006-12-26 00:20:13 [hometext] => Wrote this one almost a year ago, never released it. Thought I'd see if anybody has any thoughts on it. [bodytext] => Another dawn another day
So familiar, but never the same
My mind can’t go on this way
Won’t be long before I’m labeled insane

Staring at the wall again
Longing for a window
So I can see the terrain
That surrounds this hole

Somebody get me out of here
My patience is waning and there’ll be no explaining
When I bolt away, not from fear
Just cause I can’t take it any more

Started to make new games in my mind
Playing them with others who don’t have a clue
What kind of way is this to spend my days
Yet I can’t find a way to get outta this routine
And this is all I got to keep me occupied
Clinging on to what’s left of my soul
Before they succeed in taking it away
With whatever else I still have

Digging me a grave that I don’t belong in
They’ve begun to take control
Placing me inside a box that I don’t fit in
They’ll be surprised when I take the situation into my own hands
Unlike the others before me I’m going to beat the system
Soon as I can get my self out of here

Mixed up morals, backwards ethics
Scientists are screwing with my genetics
Unbreachable walls block their minds
A never ending barrier that grows with time

What can I do to make them see
All these things that bother me
Minds already made up, just can’t comprehend
That maybe they were wrong, and its time for another look [comments] => 2 [counter] => 172 [topic] => 43 [informant] => The_View [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )

Sat me back in the seat you did with this one.
Intense just doesn't do this justice. Well done.

Personally I love finding something I have written from year or greater and having it still hold up under my own editorial scrutiny which can be very brutal... I hope this piece did this for you has it has legs and merit capturing a real sense of being "Contained"

"...Mixed up morals, backwards ethics

Well Done
AJ
