Array ( [sid] => 1298 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Stolen Innocence [time] => 2002-07-29 09:59:00 [hometext] => This poem has nothing to do with me. I just think that it's such a tragic story and one day this poem just came to me and I started writing. I don't think it turned out too bad and it's the poem that people have commented the most on. [bodytext] => What was mine, is now yours.
That innocence you took.
You stole it right away from me
Like some demented crook.

That precious little secret,
That so few have to share.
Now I don't have anything,
And I'm not sure that you care.

I wanted it to stay with me,
Until the time was right.
But you went ahead and took it,
Though my body tried to fight.

You'd waited long enough,
But you didn't think of me.
You told me it was time,
But I did not agree.

I knew that I was right,
That you should not have won.
You were much too strong for me,
And I was much too young.

The door that you broke open,
Never can I lock.
Now acceptance is the path
That I am forced to walk.

I'm not sure I can handle
Being older than I am.
But now I have no choice
You've left me here to stand.

As a coward you have run,
Like a horse into the wild.
Because you cannot face the fact,
That I'm carrying your child.
