Every time you have a new idea, you are creating
every time you find a new way to do something that needs doing
just having the brains to arrange the way children are standing
is creating
For our artistry, Blacks were once called the "lady of all races"
but our "entertainers" own businesses encompassing all races
Our success registers shock on all faces
We change the world touching lives in all places
not with shields nor with swords
but with words
for when spoken, words are forged into the brain
and remain unbroken
not just random words, our poetry is far more than token
So take it not granted, for words destroy the ignorance
on which our world is chokin'
That's why my words are spoken

Kwanzaa is not a religious holiday, it is a cultural one that can be celebrated by all races and nationalities.

A beautiful holiday write. I have studied some about Kwanzaa with my daughter for home school. I like her to be aware of all peoples and their celebrations. Of course we've much to learn. Thanks for sharing.
Peace, Laura
