A Seasonal Greeting

How long ago did angels sing
About our Saviour's birth?
Praises to the Lord did ring
Peace to all men on earth.
Yonder from the east, afar,
Came those three wise men
Hurrying towards the star
Resting over Bethlehem.
Inside the stable lay the child
So peacefully a-sleeping
Tended by Mary meek and mild
Mother of the new born king.
And as we think of Him this day
So let us praise His name
Because, we know, it was to save
Each one of us he came.
Ridiculed, betrayed and sold
Yet, even by His death He gave
Life eternal to us all.
