Life's Rainstorm

The best words he ever spoke
Were spent fighting against “the man.”
Eyes shined with determination,
Speaking only to say, “I can.”
But ages wore on,
And the dream faded,
Not used to failure
When so long for victory he had waited.
This time the crowds didn’t shout against him
Just to urge on and spite.
He didn’t want to admit it,
But all along they had been right.
He at last realized
That hope never really dies,
But wishes can change and transform
That’s just the beauty of life’s rainstorm.
