is all too sad but true
and don't you dare forget it
lest it happen to you.

Take heed you fair hearted virgins
as you climb into your pure white beds,
better keep those thoughts of love
someplace else besides your head.

There's a handsome black-eyed phantom
that comes lurking in the night,
he's looking for a new love
and his charms you cannot fight.

He appeared silently, smiling
as she lay there dreaming of,
someone someday she'd call her own,
a good man she could love.

Awakening she saw him there
with his eyes as black as coal.
One look from him and she knew,
he had her heart but what of her soul.

Into her bed he slowly crept,
setting her mind on fire.
Caressing her and holding
her taking her passions higher.

Whispering forbidden words,
things she longed to hear,
promises of endless joy
he did speak into her ear.

All through the night he stayed
turning every thought of desire
into a frenzied reality
her whole body now on fire.

At last with dawn approaching
with wild abandon he took her,
cried an unholy word or two
and knew that he had conquered.

'Now that I have had you
and made your being whole,
keep your heart foolish girl,
for all I wanted was your soul'.

With soul ensnared he stole away
leaving his handiwork behind
and when the sun had fully risen
the body they did find.

Lying there in her pure white bed,
stinking of foul decay,
lay the fair-hearted virgin
in total naked display.

Her body torn and broken,
bruised breasts and twisted hips,
how could one so sorely used
have a smile upon her lips?

Now pay mind to this story
as you lay yourself to sleep,
if thoughts of love are in your head,
your soul you may not keep.

So to all fair-hearted virgins
beware of the black-eyed man
for he who offers such pleasures,
follows a total payment plan!

A very well written poem.
Not to degrade your poem, but it reminds me of all these muders happening in Ipswich.

Anyway. Poem wise this is a fantastic write, and a good read.

Well Done

Nathan
