Put you on the other side of that door.
I never meant to make you leave
But you never meant to love a whore.

I believe that someday you’ll come to your senses
And realize you left a girl who cares;
Who’s finally escaped from her degrading hell
And needs to restart somewhere.

Maybe I deserve to be alone and
Cry ’cause my heart is beaten and cracked.
Or maybe I deserve to love and to
Find someone to love me back.

The house is cold and empty
And the wind is strong and blowing fierce.
I stare at the blank television screen
As I calmly blink back painful tears.

I think of how it used to be
With your accusing tone of voice.
I told you it’s all over with and
That I settled with my choice.

You didn’t want to see or feel
Or settle for imperfection.
But I look at you and you are the same
But still I offered my affection.

I get lost in my thoughts that crowd my mind
And prepare to let you go.
Then I change my mind and set down the glass
I was about to angrily throw.

I suddenly am aware of the passing time and
Throw on that shirt of yours you let me keep.
I rub my own arms to keep myself warm
And pretend you’re with me while I sleep. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 208 [topic] => 22 [informant] => AnaBanana [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LostLove )

NEVER, NEVER settle for someone who doesn't realize that everything you have ever been went into making you who you are today & from what I'm able to discern here, who you are today is worth so much more than what this mans blind soul has to offer!!!
