I can see the truth in that, “God bless us each and everyone”
“And lay out the turkey, there’s a fortune here to be won”

Nothing plus a nothing equals nothing in my pockets to grow
Zip plus a nada equals nothing in my pockets to grow
Guess there’s a whole lot of nothing to fertilize my poor stitching’s soul

Put the laugh track on high, she needs all the appreciation she can get
Make an uproar of noise; she needs all the appreciation she can get
She’d of traded love for fame if she’d of been given the bet

I’d have told you to go home if I thought you’d listen to me
Yeah, I’d of brushed you out to go home if I thought you’d listen to me
But you’re going to be sticking around, this much I can see

One in a million, “It’s a fools game to be played my friend”
The odds are too slim, “It’s a fools game to be played my friend”
“But you’ll play it just the same to your god damn foolish end”

I own a black cat, so I must have a lot of bad luck to boot
I pass it everyday, so I must have a lot of bad luck to boot
But I’ve thrown of superstition cause the failings at my root

Tell my angel Alexandra I’m sorry, but I can’t see past her skin
I wish I’d understand love, but I can’t see past her skin
I’d have traded every lover just for the chance of a win

Have you heard of our old friend? Seems he made his final cost
I hear he’s rich and famous seems he made his final cost
If he keeps his head in the lens, it’ll never hit him what he lost

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
