Your Silence

I restlessly await here in agony
I wait
Wait for you to say
The words
The words you I pine for you to say
There is only silence.
Silence screams
Silence fumbles clumsily
Silence lingers
I long for you to say it
I crave to hear more
But alas
There is nothing more
Than this desperate silence.
Time ticks by
And my anticipation swells
As though it could burst
Your pupils
Flick back and forth
And congeals
The silence.
Progressively I feel more seduced
Entangled in this despondent web
In this pending
Hopeless
Frying frustration
I long to hear the truth
But there is only silence
My mind broods over
The words that you could say
The truth that could
Be coiled beneath
Your alpha-helix puzzle
But there is only silence.
Suddenly, the realization
Emerges from within
And the truth
Wraps, tenses and then chokes
For the truth that you offer
Is simply your silence
Coiled within that
Is an empty desire.
