Runs through our veins it has
many forms and true purpose
and covers the face of this
earth by two-thirds...
Convections and currents
as heat and salt is exchanged
this cosmic blood flows in many ways.

Coursing down the gullies
and electrified valleys
springs pool into deltas
mouth to great seas and oceans
so twists a lesson
in elemental organization.

As temperatures converge
the bang and shake defines
sediments breathe and filter
to take shape
as rod or core of cool & fresh
punching its way to varying depths
with such skill and precision
one can find water from the Mississippi
right up to the shores of Ireland.

At the very bottom
where Hendrix sang of seeing sunrise
there is a current
in level of thickness
which varies from
1 to 12 feet by approximation.
A saline rich
pressure dance
forming a clot of sorts
that floats just above and across
the coldest depths
avoiding all heat and magma pores
loitering above and below being frozen
as volume & temperature
a waltz of physics
covers the globe in
lengths of twenty thousand years
by some estimates..

Integrity
is maintained by nature
a kind of slicing
back and through
the vagaries of being stable
vibrating that cusp as
a winding helix
and here the allusions grip
metaphor extends simile
in like kindness
to we children of spirals.

Aj,
I loved the contrast with nature that you used in and with such interst and though provoking metaphor, a delight as always.

I love the reference to "Are You Experienced"

~~If you can just get your mind together
then come on across to me
We'll hold hands
and then we'll watch the sun rise.....from the bottom of the sea
But first
Are You Experienced?
Have you ever been experienced?
Well, I have~~

Thanks for sending me to the Jimi zone.
I love this deep thoughtful piece, AJ.
Very interesting and informative write.
May the cosmic blood keep on flowing.
Much peace to you,
Laura

The blending of elements..."When Water meets Water, there is no resistance, resulting in a continual stream of inspiration, flowing eventually into a greater ocean of enlightenment...or on the negative side, it may trickle into a stagnant inlet, where there is no escape. Water cools the thirst but, when out of control, brings destructive floods...The choice lies equally w/ both Water & Water"~Linda Goodman

Sometimes anothers words say it all & so now I gladly bow & defer to these words by another.

Good Morning Sweet Prince...

Visually creative and introspective pieces like this is what poetry is all about, if you ask me. It's like being caught up in a whirlwind of the author's emotions, and deepest thoughts. I love the implications of the title too btw : )
