Living On A One-Way Street

Contributed by Channing on Wednesday, 6th December 2006 @ 12:18:47 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

Fire destroys all it touches
It consumes all
Burning until only ashes remain
And I’ll save you from it
Remove the fire burning inside you
Making it my own,
Igniting myself
If your strength leaves you
Stranded in the ocean
Sinking into the lonely depths
I’ll dive down,
Fight the water to bring you back
So you may breathe the oxygen
Floating all around the surface
When you take the plunge
Off of Earth’s tallest mountain
You’ll find me at the bottom
Arms open and ready for the catch
The catch that will open your eyes
Letting you see that life is better
Than any escape death can give
I will do all these things
Knowing full well that no one
Will be there when the fire
Burns inside me, reducing me to ash
When I’m drowning in the lonely depths
Of the ocean
Or when I take the plunge
Back to the Earth
For I will save you
Accepting the fact that
No one will be there
To save me

-Channing-
