respect

she kicks
she asks you
to apologise

she slaps
and demands
for understanding

she screams
and questions
why

she ignores
and expects me to know
how to
respect.

My mom had 4 kids & divorced at 27 in '68 the Summer of Love was fraught with scenes just as you have penned. I didn't understand then but I do now. To even raise one child challenges both intact and broken homes because our parents are just humans. They are not the perfect beings we think and in their humaness you find your own strength in their frailties. A good emotion filled write that hopefully will build good character by processing with the pen rather than holding onto to any latent resentment
Keep the flow!

Peace
Yang

Wow this is one heavy little piece of writing. I had many mixed emotions whilst reading. (I've read it several times). You wrote this well. It bit me. Coming from someone who lost their mother at age 18, it hurts. Hurts that you feel that way, that someone's mother would treat them in such a way. It also makes me evaluate myself as a mother now, 42 with two kids. I feel so inadequate as a mother at times. My god, it is such a complicated, challenging job. I hope you find it in your heart one day to forgive. I also hope when you have children, you remember. Peace to you and thanks so much for the write. I like the writes that make me sit and ponder a bit. Well done, keep expressing yourself through your writes.
Hugs,
Laura

this was an emotional piece it would seem that the message is one of anger or frustration towards the "mother" in the story
it can be hard to see but it is better to question why in these situations not to judge each other but ofcause this is easier said than done we are only human after all a nice work though keep it up
