If i showed them my cuts and scars?
What would the world say,
If i opened the door to my mind?
Would they cry, or would they laugh?
Would they wana help, or would they back away?
What would the world say,
It they know the truth?

Should i take the chance,
And let them know what's going on?
Should i take the chance,
And show them what my world's like.
Should i even bother, or should i really try?
Should i show my face, or hide away?
What would the world say
If i never said a word,
And they found out a different way? [comments] => 4 [counter] => 189 [topic] => 36 [informant] => M [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Suicide )

the world is full of complexity. If you say bitter things it laughs on your face and feels sympathetic on your back and if you say happy things it will praise on your face and weep on your back. therefore you need not be worried. what ever you say wrap it with love and smiles. then you can find positive response.. good write.. venkat

this poem is very compelling... especially the last line... my sister cut and so did my mother and we have all battled depression... my release is writing... my mother is still sick, and my sister is on her way to recovering... i think if one person loves you, then your purpose here is findable (is that a word?)... great poem... blessings...

Emily one thing i have learned is ppl don't understand if they havenever cut themselves. They either act with anger and are sickened by it or they dont know what to say like a few of my friends. I wouldn't leave yourself open to that kind of vulnerability if I were you. This was a great poem that shows your strong spirit. Keep on fighting and keep on writing these awesome poems.

Peace,
Joel
