on the longest night
we listen to the last strum
the night is long and exciting
but the best is yet to come
watching with the eyes of a hawk
and hearts filled with glee
the hand slowly hits twelve
and the family crowds their tree
happy faces and broad smiles
everyone is together
lights reflect off the presents
but it wont last forever
