Freedom was the desire of my heart. I had to move constantly because I was afraid of being pulled apart.

Gently my hand would linger, glazing the ocean’s water. My hand turned warm as it grazed past yours.

Subtly my mind wanted to stay, but I could not gain any control.
The thunder clashed and lightning flashes. I was thrown into new waters so treacherous and full of confusion.

My body is tossing to and fro, but my heart remained calm as I thought about you.

The whirlpool of lust did drag me under and its murky water rushed into my lungs. I knew my body was drowning. My eyes closed as I feared for my heart. I felt my body turning ice cold. This could have been the end of me.

But then.

Your slender hand reached through the ice, slipping deep down into my heart. With one firm yet tender tug, you pulled me out of this calamity.

I stand here now amazed at all the things you can do, and
right now nothing matters as I kiss you. Our mouths seal and you breathe in so deeply removing all my pain.

Thank you for hearing my distress call. I was lost, drowning in life’s sea of despair.

Smiling I look into your eyes gratefully, and then from your eyes into your soul. Once I was drowning painfully, but now I’m only peacefully drowning in you.

i liked this poem, at first because of the title i was expecting a totaly different poem, but it goes to show you not judging a book by it's cover, but in the end i still loved reading it
