This is your children speaking-

We love to watch the sky,

With it's bright sun, moon, and stars.

We love to watch the trees and flowers,

With mother nature's creature's running in their shadows.

We love to watch our friends,

Without worrying which side of the road they're from.

If you did not notice,

We love to watch you, too.

Why do you show us hatred and greed?

Why do you show us destruction and death?

Don't you realize we want to hold dear these things we love?

We want to share these things with generations to come.

We want butterflies and birds to trace the skies-

Not bullets and smoke.

Please don't destroy our dreams because of your selfish hatred.

We are still watching... [comments] => 7 [counter] => 182 [topic] => 25 [informant] => karoody [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => MiscPoems )

A lovely sentiment. A lovely poem.

Part of my comment is in a poem I've already writtem "Restrain your parents" but it's a bit flippant.

But the same sentiment runs through a lot of others I've written but none of them crystalised and expressed as well as this
