I waited for an answer
Hoped for sweet salvation
Desperately wanting this pain to stop.
So you came
My agony holding its breath
Just to burst out
Mixed with blood.
My throat sore with tears
My hands shaking
My knees giving in
I breathed for your love
So now I stop.
Cutting wide open
Slowly through the skin
Cutting into flesh
Slicing veins
Scratching bones
Blood spilling.
Hands drop to the side
Heart pumping
Throbbing
One last time
One last drop
One last thought.
Falling in the deep nothingness
Vision fading into black
All thoughts draining away
No emotion inside
But the cause
That’s you.
I can’t exist without your love
So now here I am
Not existing
Though carrying you in my heart
Through the white gates
Waiting for you
Hoping for sweet salvation… [comments] => 3 [counter] => 208 [topic] => 22 [informant] => JoeyTrib1550 [notes] => Edited for spelling as requested - Moderator_16 [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => LostLove )

Written with deep emotion and
some images which made me
flinch. Scratching bones was
was quite effective. It gave me
that feeling one gets when hearing
nails scrape against chalkboard.
I believe that good poetry should
force a response from the reader
and your imagery certainly did that.
Truly , Doug
