When I was younger, Christmas was for the togetherness
Christmas was for happiness
Christmas was for the children
Now its, "How much am I worth"?

Christmas meanings have dwelled into nothing but materlistic meanings
This christmas, I am going to focus on giving, and not receiving
Giving special words, and kindness to everyone
Smiling to put smiles on others' face
Spending time with my loved ones,be it family or friends
Making the Christmas of hype and materialism ...In the past
Hoping peace and happiness for all
SO to each of you I give the best present I can give......
A hug for each and wishes of you and familes of sharing and caring
Make Christmas a special day of being together
If not physically, then mentally
Give what you can and make it special...

Christmas, holidays....
Seems so many use christmas for the materialism
When I was younger, Christmas was for the togetherness

Nothing like getting in early with the Christmas wishes is there, still a month to go ! lol
Spending time with loved ones or friends, all of them or just those close to home ?
How much am I worth ? :)

Dearest Dayna, yes sadly to some this is what christmas has become, but not you. You have always been so giving of your kind and beautiful heart. I wished there were alot more sweet people like you in this world.
We may be worlds apart, but we're never apart in my heart my dear friend.

lol Reading this made me think of an old co-worker of mine who stopped in last Friday, and proudly stated to me he had been "Christmas shopping". Then he proceeded to show me the items --- every last one was for himself : /
My favourite part of Xmas is getting together with my family....aunts/uncles, cousins, niece/nephews...Most of them I only get to see once or twice a year, so I enjoy Xmas time with them. Thanks for posting this Dayna; as usual it's insightful stuff!

Yes, your perceptions of the "commercialmas" of Christmas are right on. I've got a poem by that title that I will not post, possibly share with you in a pm. I too, wish to handle Christmas as you do. New Mexico style - - - Feliz Navidad! Great write, Dayna!

"Give what you can and make it special..."
Such a simple concept dearest dayna .. and yet, so difficult
for some, no? Such a beautiful, peaceful time for some,
and so tortured for others. Would that all the pain and suffering
could just be wiped away with a single gesture of faith
and good will .. those who know you are truly blessed, sweetie.
It's a comfort to know wonderful
and beautiful people like you, hun.
