Trap me here, pin me down,
Just tell me what to do.
The child inside weeps, yet humbly I obey.
Empty hugs do not console, your kiss infects the wound.
Pat my head and then send me out to fail.
You just don’t know who I really am.
You just don’t care who I really am.

My childhood tears never dry here,
Even with your hugs.

A very good first poem to the site. Hope to see more of your work up here. My favorite lines are:
"You all whisper your expectations,
Nasty little somethings that contradict my dreams."

I think we all can relate to that.
