Array ( [sid] => 128525 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The Guilt Trip [time] => 2006-11-21 17:54:13 [hometext] => This is based on a true story. My life. Except the last few stanzas. I broke up with my boyfriend and he wanted to ***** me off, so he told me he tried to kill himself just to make me feel guilty. yeah...i hate him...alot. [bodytext] => The happiest couple on earth walking hand in hand,
thinking everything is okay, and nothing will go wrong.
Living their lives in a mask full of lies and hate.
They wrote each others' names, but it was no longer in the sand.

Taking chances is falling in love. But it takes a toll.
They were together, in the lover's eyes, always and forever.
But love has its downsides and you have your fights.
Neither of them got their anger and hate under control.

You call it off and qucky find that forever was short.
The boy is devistated and the girl is full of regret.
Both consider taking their own lives, but both decide no.
Lovers and haters. Winners and losers. Of all sorts.

The boy thinks he has a tricky idea for the girl.
Fake an attempt at suicide. Maybe she'll feel the guilt.
You tell her you love her and you tell her that you care.
He says he tried to kill himself, and the plan uncurls.

She blames herself, because you said it was her
that made you want to be in the shallow, dark hole.
She lies in her bed, crying until dawn starts to break.
He made her think death, and only death, was the only cure.

She takes the razor to her wrist and quietly she cries
"My dear lover! I am sorry for all that I have done!"
As she lays in the thickening, red puddle of blood, she sobs.
"I love you," she repeatedly says until she is lost.

The boy finds out about the poor, innocent girl's death.
He blames himself, because in all actuality, it is his fault.
He dies inside and leaves waht he thought he once loved.
His grades slip, he loses friends, and soon nothing but Fs.

The boy is home alone one night, all sad and every so lonely.
He pops 10 pills and waits for everything to stop.
He remembers her face, her hair, her hugs....her love.
He whispers "If only we never wrote each others' names...if only." Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
