Array ( [sid] => 12825 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => I write [time] => 2003-02-17 18:00:00 [hometext] => To all of you who have encouraged me
Taken the time to write
I pen this poem for you
For your love makes it right

Love takes many forms
And kindness is one indeed
And so I requite your love
Godbless you friends--Godspeed ! [bodytext] => I Write

I do not write for recognition
I do not wish for fame
Nor do I write for wealth
I write strictly for the flame

The flame burning intensely
Within the reaches of my heart
The flame revealing Gods wonders
Setting the poet apart

I write because His passions
Reverberate thru my soul
Overwhelming me with inspiration
My fellow poets I'm sure you know

I write because of stories
Every heart needs to share
For silent hearts to hear their voice
In the passions I share

I write to give hope
To my own searching heart
To show how similar we really are
Hearts not so far apart

Lastly I write to share with you all
To perpetuate this consuming flame
I pray you share it too
Love is its name !

Dear Loner, I really love your poem. If I had the skills, I could have written the same senti-ments that you expressed. My favorite verses were the 3rd and 5th. Hope to get to know you better through the reading of your other poems. Love, Great-grandma Bizzy

I am not sure what you were trying to say to me venkat , but I assure you I do not not consider myself a great flame as a poet. The flame refers to my own burning desire to express thru poetry what I feel inside. Just as all other poets do- I hope. I restrict myself as to how much poetry I read so as not to unconsciously copy or plagerize. The whole reason for this last poem was to try to explain that it isn't because people read my poetry that I write, but that I am driven to write. It was my attempt to clarify that situation as I realised I sounded like I was crying about not being read. As is always the case, there are those who misunderstand and this reply is my attempt to further explain to you my screw up in sounding petty.

With respect,
Russ

Thank you Jenni but the poem was my attempt to make right what does appear like my pettiness or crying about not being read.
Already venkat has taken me to task and I have responded in kindness I hope. And I have put myself in bad light. Was my poor choice of words that day. This poem " I write "
was my attempt to show I write strictly because of the flame that burns intensely inside me, whether anyone reads it or not. But I am afraid it was another bad decision on my part... I will continue to read your work as it is very good indeed.
Russ

Thanks that I have read your reply. Definitely you have that bright flame of universal spirit. I feel that I am very harsh in my comments. But one thing I have to clarify whether we are read or not read or whether we recieve applause or scorn we must continue writing what we feel and understand through our hearts. My blessings will always be there. I like your sweet nature.. may you grow up and see a hundred pleasant springs autumns.. venkat

Ty venkat for you words--And I was a bit childish and immature-I seem to ride the emotional crest of the poems I write. I just need to learn to wait until I come back to center before I post them. But I always respect honesty-ty
