A small flickering candle is the only light
Shadows are cast on the walls of stone
The girl so empty and feeling so alone
A small window in the corner catches her eye
Perhaps this small freedom will cause the tears to dry
Looking at the window in disbelief
She sees herself before the grief
A little window reflecting like a mirror
Reminding her of the time when she wasn’t here
Back to when everything went her way
Back to when night broke into day
Looking through the window that shows her soul
Remembering all the pieces that once made her whole
This little window casing so much joy and pain
Looking through the window it begins to rain
She remembers this is a window made of glass
A simple wall keeping her from the skies and grass
Soon a million pieces of her past lay shattered on the floor
Behind the glass is just another stone wall not a real door
Glittering so appealing offering another way to be free
The broken pieces of glass glittering so innocently
Offering some console with nothing else there
Looking at the pieces she is suddenly aware
Now she sees the truth the dream has been shattered
Crying again she sees everything is gone that ever mattered
Silence fills the little stone prison
The floors are streaked with a bright crimson
A little candle flickers once last time and dies
Never again will the little room hear her cries
In the corner lies the window with girl lying near
She found her escape by looking through the window and the mirror

oh right because suicide poetry is only KINDA dark. lol, sorry. fantastic write though. my attention didn't waver the whole time, suspenceful too. a sad story, yes, but brilliantly written. and hey, if nothing in life's going right, at least you've got your own little site of people just as out of it as you, cause misery loves company right?
