forever you said we’d be,
but I broke your heart too many times
now your love has abandoned me.

We’ll never know what was lost
what I know it could have been.
You broke this man when you left,
and took another man in sin.

How many things should I have said?
How much should I have done?
I left you needing more from me,
while I was out just having fun.

Cocain, and whiskey controlled my life,
but you were the glue that seemed to bind.
You held me together when I was lost,
and you lead me when I was blind.

Our marriage lasted for eight lost years
it must have been a hell for you to pay.
I’m sorry for the way I treated you...
god I need you so much today.

No more drugs will I ever do
no more whiskey nights alone.
I will prove I love you a thousand times,
each day, if you would just come home.

Strong piece. I really hope you've got your life together since then.
Your right in this piece about how much love really means and how one can easily take it for granted until it's gone...
The rhyming pattern suits this piece and is used well. Nice write!
