Hiding two feet behind the tangible liar
Blowing heavy on the back of my neck, freedom

Time drags on........

The stale smell of smoke, coughing up another reason
Move forward, pretense, consume reality
Eat the flesh of lies and cowardice
Blood stains don't wash out so easily

Escape to the darkened room of solace
Finally alone, no lies shall proceed
Soapy fingers soaking in attempts to erase
Fragile attempts to forget, move on

Time drags on.....

The sun does not light up the room
It has ceased its casting of shadows
Two feet behind the liar is the choking rope
The final predator, truth's hand
As tangible as the bloody garments, the evidence

A flickering butt of your wretched fire, left lit on the ground
Next to the limp body of a liar
Liar.
Inability to cope with life's tangles, life's mess

Time drags endlessly forward......

A weighted foot moves with effort to stomp
Stomp out the remains of you, the last sure sign of life
You cannot inhale the nicotene into lying lungs any longer
The last sure sign of life, snuffed
Snuffed out, no longer

Your name tumbles out of my mouth
Angry, you, you, you
A title that always belongs to the same man
Own it, you, own your deciet
Salty taste prickling my tongue, you're still alive in my mouth
Bitter, oh remind me

That time drags on......

However long that these gentle hands vigorously wash
Vigorously scrub at the blood on your clothes
They fail in the end, to take back the time you have wasted
The evident fall to victim cannot be rewritten

Pray that the sun will again light up the room
And your smell will be gone with you
The bitter taste of your name will rot and be forgotten
The shadow is slain of your lies

Time is dragging its crooked fingers, it's lying lips, its fiery tongue
Down the back of my neck, like freedom
But the choking rope that is wrapped around your lies
Offers me peace no longer
Such stale vengeance mistaken for something more

Time drags on.......infinitely
