Cold at doom peering through opaque veils
The past leers from unforgiving haunted windows
On shadows she is thrown to as Destiny tires

Was that the winds of scandal still howling?
They keened as death danced on his impending feet
Death would twist her reality to their custom-fit size
They would judge again, stones on her morality

She smiled at memories, at truant joy
How many times had she died in love’s arms!
Love had plundered, when she gave her all
Ice thorns bleeding her solo essence

‘He will go away, no more claims now,
Its just my life and me, the last duo in the final call’
And she walked, a grey shadow in the early mist
In death’s phantom feet, down corridors of insane time…

That was wonderful! It kept wanting to know more, usually when I read poetry around this site, it doesn't keep me entertained long. I am so jealous right now.

*goes and shivers in a corner*
