As the Earth flew through its darkness
It pulled up the Sun
Time had now begun
In the gloom of the morning
Through the mists of the dawn
A struggling sun arises
As darkness hides and runs
Time and time again
This same scene done
But a fearless Sun has a job to do
Sending darkness to its doom

Creeping up through the horizon
Sailing to a Sea of blue,
The Sun Itself helped create that hue
Shrouding stars, the universe
Nearly the moon
While Microbes use it too
Its energy ignites us all
And tells us when to do

Flowers start blooming
Bees begin to fly
From the mere mention
Of it’s power to give life
Weather patterns shift and moan
At the power of it’s might
Knowing people watch in awe
At first daylight

Monday morning coffee runs
The shine a granted scene
Hiding in our buildings
Lost within our dreams
While the Sun Just keeps on doing
All the things it’s meant to be
We go about our day
Never thinking it won’t be

Finally the moon creeps up
Scaring it away
Finally for us it’s the end
Of another fruitless, or fruitful day
It stuffs itself
Beneath the trees
And slowly waves good-bye
With colors only God can do
And most of us don’t reply
This is just the Sun
Doing what it’s always done
Since stars, since moons
Since Earth, since suns
