To show I could survive,
They told of my mixed up life,
And of the tears I've cried,

I wrote about good times too,
And laughter and mirth was the key,
To show that I can still smile,
Even in times of adversity,

Death and darkness they did reside,
They sometimes filled me with sorrow,
My words they gave me hope and trust,
To believe in my tomorrows,

But tomorrow is just another day,
Its just another bitter pill,
My inspiration is no more,
I've decided to snap my quill,

I have decided to gave my poetry a rest,
Its weary like me you see,
And hatred in my life I have,
So no more words for a while from me,

I will still visit to read your words,
I still enjoy them very much,
They give me comfort that is true,
For they have a caring touch,

So with heavy heart I say goodbye,
To poetry and what it entails,
It was good while it lasted,
But for now my words they fail.

ahh...writer's block, i presume? never stop writing, as my english teacher told me. even if it makes no sense, or it's only bits and pieces - even if you don't like what's being written, never stop. a true poet has it in thier blood...drives them simply mad to just stop. hopefully, you'll break the block soon. terrific write...why would you ever stop?

Sue-

I am very saddened to see that you are going to stop writing. I've read a lot of your work and it is very good stuff. It is sad that you have decided to quit, even for a little while, you will be missed here. I know I will miss your work and your kind words.

Until we see you again, farewell dearest friend, best wishes and good luck.

awww Sue, I do understand. Most of us who have been here for any amount of time can tell we all go through these writerless dark times. I hope you don't ever stop writing but take whatever time you need.
We will miss you.

To say I can relate to this is an understatement of profound proportions. I've seriously considered laying down the pen thinking my writing days to be over recently....but I think it's in our blood....in our souls to write. If I dont write I get " funny". Not ha ha funny either. Take the break, it may take time but you'll pick the pen back up.

Excellent writing my friend

My dear friend, Sue~ Welcome to the club of "Writers Block" of which I happen to be president of, lol. I can so much relate to what you are going through and I'm pretty sure alot of our fellow poets can relate to it too. I have been in this hole for awhile and I can't seem to get out of it. I have considered laying down my pen, but then it just wouldn't be the same.
Take the time out my dear friend. Don't be too hard on yourself. You are a fantastic, gifted and very talented poetess. Give yourself time hun. You'll make an amazing come back you'll see. Be patient my friend.
If ya need a good set of listening ears to hear ya out, you know where to find me :-)
Chin up sweetheart, it'll be just fine~
take care and I'm here for you always.
love, hugs n prayers ur fan/friend,
sue m

First off; I'm glad to see you changed your mind! We all get writers block, and life gets in the way of here as well, but we can always come back when we're ready. I enjoyed this read --- it flowed super well, and I can relate to many parts of it also.
Thank you for sharing : )
