I am Fine now,
I am in a Better Place,
Looking Down,
Down upon You.

You cried when I Left,
You cried when I came Home.
So Please,
Don't Cry for Me.

I did my Duty,
I served my Country,
I gave my Life,
Defending my Home.
Defending You.

Momma,
Please Don't Cry.

I am Gone now,
But I will always be with You.
I am a Part of you,
In your Heart,
In your Mind,
In your Prayers.

I gave my Life,
So others can Live.
I gave the Ultimate Sacrifice,
So that others can now Live.

Momma,
Please Don't Cry.

I served my Country,
I did my Duty,
I lived my Life,
Now I'm Gone.

You taught me to be Strong,
When others were Weak.
You taught me to Lead,
When others would Follow.

Momma,
Please Don't Cry.

My Pain is gone now,
My Life is over now,
My Country is proud now,
My Friends are alive now.

They are all fine,
Because of you Momma.
You did your best to raise Me,
You raised me to be all I could Be.
Now I am Gone.

Momma,
Please Don't Cry for Me.

I look Down,
Upon that Rain-soaked ground,
I see You there,
Crying over my Grave.
I know it's not Fair,
But I will always be There,
I am Gone,
But I will never be Forgotten.

So Momma,
Please,
Please Don't Cry,
Please Don't Cry for Me.

***** Author's Note*****

I was inspired to write this today when I began thinking of all the Soldiers who have fought, and died, for our Country. I thought about how they gave their lives so we could be Free. I say a prayer at night for all those out there, to see them home safely. I also Pray for those we have lost to find peace. This poem is dedicated to all those we have lost, and for those who we will lose. Carry on, Brave Soldiers, God Speed and Be Safe.
