I only know I miss you now.

It never felt this strong before,
but I feel it pounding through my heart,
and in the sting of every tear.

Yet still my flesh will not believe,
it will not feel your warming skin,
for another thousand years.

(The thought is like a needle's sting)
I recoil from its metal touch.
The pain of longing bites within.

I feel it every time I speak,
in every broken indrawn breath,
and every whispered moment sweet.

And it never felt this strong before,
this silent tearing of my heart,
and the tears that never spill.

And even if I saw you now,
I know I'd miss you still.

OMG Phyllis, I so loved how you wrote this piece. It was truly a touching write. That last line is haunting...

"And even if I saw you now,
I know I'd miss you still"

That just makes my heart ache. Beautiful.
Peace sis,
Laura

Your protrayal of pain and hurt is so powerful in this write, and the imagery so vivid. Great depth and emotion of sadness and loneliness

Well done, Philly

Will

PhillyGirl~ such sadness engulfs my heart and tears fill my eyes as I read your painful and heart breaking write. You my dear friend are an extraordinary person so special and unique in her own little ways. It saddens me to know how hurt and pained your heart really is. I wished I could take it all away from you my dear friend and bring out the rainbow of love and happiness to fill your beautiful, but aching heart. I know at times you look and think oh gosh when is it gonna get darn better. Be patient dear friend and good things come to those who wait. We are put on trials through life to learn and become stronger. You dearest Philly are a strong, good hearted and determined young lady. You can reach for what you strive for~ You have it within you. May life & love be kind to you sweet PhillyGirl~
An eternity of love and happiness to you~
take care my dear friend.
love, hugs n prayers,
Sue M

Sweets .. forgive me for being so late to this. Hun, I feel such despair and
pain within these lines. I wish, you never had to feel the sting of this kind of
hurt. Your words have captivated my heart, dearest poet. I am trapped
within the mix of all that is you here.

I admire your audacity hun and am so proud of how brave you are. And continue
to be
, through all that you must endure. Life, for you, though pained and trying
shall shine brilliantly. Your kind ways, and loving heart will seal your fate.
Your strength is a neverending wonder and inspiration.

Miss you ~

*hugs*

~Breezy

It's odd, how you can feel this for people, and places. Sometimes both, at the same time. I miss people, but, sorry Andrew, when I miss Oregon... well, let's just say that the beach obscures everyone there...
All kidding aside, a very beautiful poem, Phil.
Take care,
David
